Blackworms

    Product Details:
  • Blackworms are an ideal fish food for most marine and tropical fish.
  • Blackworms are also excellent for small and hatchling box turtles and aquatic turtles.
  • Blackworms will live for weeks in the refrigerator. Rinse daily with chilled bottled water.
  • Our Blackworms are farm raised in the best of conditions. Tubifex worms come from less than desirable neighborhoods, such as sewage lagoons and run off from animal confinement areas.
  • These rich, succulent Blackworms are teeming with nutrition. Your aquarium fish will quickly show a vibrant healthy glow when you include live foods such as California Blackworms in their diet. California Blackworms provide an excellent source of protein and are extremely beneficial for conditioning food for breeding preparation.
  • Blackworms are no larger than one inch long, small enough for all tropical fish to devour them.

  • WORM KEEPERS:
Blackworms can be kept in small plastic containers, however, worm keepers are specially designed to keep the Blackworms in a superior environment.
    Care Instructions:
  • Upon the arrival of your Blackworms, thoroughly rinse them with cold (40-50° F) aged or bottled water until the run off water is clear and clean.
  • Place the Blackworms into your worm keeper or other container. Cover the Blackworms with no more than 1/2 inch of cold (40-50° F) aged or bottled water. Do not cover the container (they need to breath).
  • Keep your Blackworms in the refrigerator. They need to be kept between 40-55° F.
  • Make sure that your worms are no thicker then 1/2 inch. If they are thicker than 1/2 inch, they may suffocate or try to escape from their container.
  • To keep your blackworms fresh, they should be rinsed at least once a day. Use only AGED OR BOTTLED PRE-CHILLED WATER when rinsing. Do not use aquarium water, or room temperature water. Only cold 40-50° water.
  • You do not have to feed your worms; they will live off their own body weight. However, the longer they are kept, the more weight they will lose.
